During the January school break, pupils were challenged to help their parents at home and participate in the housekeeping: folding clothes, watering plants, washing dishes, making the bed, dusting down, vacuuming, etc… Then, they summed the chore’s points so they could see how much was got done.
During the January school break, pupils were challenged to explore and experiment with different painting techniques: poster paint, charcoal, oil painting, dry pastel, watercolor, etc… Then, they showed their creations.
To play the game “Roll a Picasso”, pupils needed a dice, the “Picasso Sheet” and a blank page. To start the Domestic and Manual Arts Club, pupils made an fun exercise: in a blank page, they placed dots arbitrarily. Then, they connected the dots with lines and imagined different forms. The second part was to replicate the same shape with objects they had at home: sticks, pens, straws, etc…

During the Christmas break, as a part of the Annual Plan of Activities, the pupils of the Portuguese School had a “Play Day”, a day dedicated to the freedom and joy of playing. Some challenges, games and play ideas were presented in order to enrich the “Play Day”.
In the scope of the exchange of traditional games between the partner countries, during the month of December 2020, the Portuguese school crafted the traditional game “5 Marias”, to offer to each partner school.
The pupils from our school visited and explored the “Traditional Games Museum”, a space in the school’s facility where traditional toys and games are collected and displayed.
